(Dan Tri) – Bayern Munich continued to prove its strength in the second leg of the 1/8 round of the Champions League, defeating PSG 2-0 and winning a ticket to the quarterfinals.

There was no comeback for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the second leg of the 1/8 round of the Champions League when coach Christophe Galtier’s team had to play at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

Losing 0-1 in the first leg, PSG still played lifelessly in the second leg even though they had the duo of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in attack.

PSG actually entered the game with determination as soon as the referee blew the opening whistle.

In the 25th minute, it was Messi’s turn to run into the penalty area but Alphonso Davies was able to block it.

In the 32nd minute, it was Bayern Munich’s turn to respond with Musiala’s shot from a tight angle, but goalkeeper Donnarumma jumped to block it in time.

In the 38th minute, goalkeeper Sommer made a serious mistake when he lost the ball in the penalty area. Fortunately, midfielder De Ligt promptly retreated to clear the ball right on the goal line after Vitinha’s shot.

Entering the second half, PSG began to show their impatience in scoring, which was also when they revealed many gaps by raising their formation to attack.

In the 52nd minute, Musiala had an accurate cross for striker Choupo-Moting to head into PSG’s net.

Conceding a goal means that PSG is now two goals behind after two matches, making the mentality of coach Galtier’s team even more impatient in finding a goal.

In the 75th minute, from Messi’s corner kick, midfielder Sergio Ramos headed dangerously but goalkeeper Sommer was still able to narrowly clear the ball.

PSG was forced to raise their attacking formation in the remaining minutes and they were hit by a quick counterattack from the home team.

Gnabry’s goal sealed a 2-0 victory for Bayern Munich in the second leg.

The defending Bundesliga champions still show their bravery in the continental arena with their 9th quarterfinal appearance in the last 10 seasons.
